What should I do if the needle hits a nerve during injection?

If you feel a sharp, shooting pain or tingling that differs from normal injection discomfort, you may have contacted a nerve. Withdraw the needle immediately, choose a different injection site at least 1-2 inches away, and use a fresh needle. Nerve contact is usually harmless but uncomfortable - symptoms typically resolve within minutes to hours. NCBI - Injection Complications
