reconstitution

What is the difference between bacteriostatic water and sterile water for peptide reconstitution?

Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, allowing reconstituted peptides to remain stable for up to 28 days when refrigerated. Sterile water has no preservatives and should be used immediately or within 24 hours after reconstitution. The FDA recommends bacteriostatic water for multi-dose vials to prevent bacterial contamination.
